Initial Consultations

As we refine the design, we can revise the house plan to better suit your needs until it fits your lifestyle, building site, and budget like a glove.

Design Completion & Review

Once we’ve fully discussed the design details with you, we’ll print out the preliminary design documents and review them together to make sure your home design is practically perfect. After you’ve approved and signed this final design, we will produce your construction drawings.

No. While our professional building designers create uniquely stunning, code-compliant home designs, the fact that we are not architects allows us to offer a variety of benefits unavailable to architects.

For example, while it’s part of an architect’s job to source and list everything for your home down to the nails, we can offer you a wider variety of options and specifications to you and your builder. This allows you more flexibility in choosing finishes and keeping your costs under control.

How much does a custom home plan cost?

While an architect typically charges a percentage of the total construction cost, JET Home Designs sets a flat fee based on the heated final square footage of the home.

The price range is dependent upon a few factors:

The complexity of the house
The layout of the builiding site
Design specifications

Because our costs are not assigned based on the final value of the home, you should save thousands of dollars over the price of hiring an architect, while getting our famous personalized service, and accessing a wider range of finish and materials options.

What does ‘permit-ready,’ mean?

Every home plan created by JETHD is detailed to meet International Residential Code requirements, as well as Illinois state and local building code amendments. If your city or town requests additional documentation or information beyond the typical requirements, we are happy to work with professionals with whom we have relationships to meet these needs in a cost-effective manner.
